Research interests: Biogeochemical processes, their time scales in marine and lacustrine environments
Biography
Adi is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Earth Sciences, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and at the Interuniversity Institute for Marine Sciences of Eilat, on sabbatical at UCSC through the 2019-2020 academic year. You can learn more about him through his lab’s website.
Research
The overarching aim of my research is to reconstruct past climate changes and better understand the mechanisms driving them. My main focus is on biogeochemical processes, their time scales in marine and lacustrine environments and the constraints they impose on the fluxes of particulate material in the atmosphere and oceans. I combine geologic, oceanographic and geochemical field and lab work, with emphasis on inorganic elemental concentrations and radiogenic isotope compositions in dust, seawater, marine particulates and sediment cores, particularly focused on modern and past processes in the Red Sea.
