Research interests: Biogeochemistry of natural waters

Biography

I’m currently a 4th year undergraduate studying environmental science and chemistry. I’m particularly interested in how the chemistry of natural waters responds to dramatic environmental disturbances such as wildfires.

Research

My research deals with the biogeochemical cycling of major ions, nutrients, and trace metals in coastal watersheds recently impacted by wildfires. A major part of this research has to do with evaluating the differences in watershed export during high flow (storm) events and typical base flow patterns, which will be critical as the area impacted by wildfires, as well as the variability in storm frequency and magnitude, are expected to increase in the coming decades.
