Curriculum Vitae

Biography
I am a third-year environmental science student interested in earth science and ecology. I grew up in Oakland, California and in my free time like to surf, mountain bike, and ski. I believe in the research of climate systems as a crucial means to better understand and mitigate the impacts of climate change. This summer I will be spending 8 weeks backpacking on the John Muir trail collecting data for future restoration.

Research
I am interested in Earth’s chemical cycles and their interactions with organisms as well as engineering. My work with the Paytan lab is focused on analyzing deep-sea marine sediment samples to determine historic seawater chemistry. In addition to my work with the Paytan lab, I am also working on tracking mountain lions in the Santa Cruz mountains using GPS collars and constructing a fog collector to be installed at the UCSC farm.
